Hi Kane, Mike's got some great works at http://www.southpolestrip.com/ I think they're listed under a noncommercial no derivative works 2.5 attribution.

Does anyone know some Creative Commons-licensed comic strips? The main reason I ask is that I edit a local free paper (also available online at http://www.GistWeekly.com/currentissue - CC licensed, of course) and I would like to add some CC-licensed comics to it, but could not find any lists/directories of Creative Commons-licensed comics online.

Here are the ones that I know of so far (listed alphabetically by name):

Abstruse Goose (BY-NC) - http://abstrusegoose.com
Bigger Than Cheeses (BY-NC-SA) - http://www.biggercheese.com
Cectic (BY) - http://cectic.com
XKCD (BY-NC) - http://xkcd.com

by-nc-nd permits noncommercial redistribution, and CC licenses are not for software, so you probably need to look elsewhere.

Hello,

I have a quick question about the "by-nc-nd" license, which can be found here: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/us/

I am currently writing a program that I want it to be free of charge to use/download (for non-commercial use). However, I don't want people to be able to redistribute it. Under any circumstance.

I see that the license mentioned above ("by-nc-nd") meets my requirements. However, there is something that confuses me.

Does the license allow people to add a modification to my program,, and be able to use it/execute my program? Because, I'd like for my consumers to be able to: add/change the style of the program, add/change code in the program to make it better for their own installation of their program, etc. Things that will only affect their installation, still without letting them redistribute it.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Raymond Nuñez

I am not a lawyer, but I'm not sure merely posting on myspace is a commercial use -- myspace may be like an ISP or copy shop in this case -- so whether it is a commercial use or not depends on whether you (the person posting someone else's noncommercial content) are making commercial use of your myspace page. But again, I am not a lawyer and this is not a place to get legal advice.

How would you best make an agreement? Start by emailing the relevant artist.

And/or start by getting advice from your lawyer. :)

What do you need to do, you mean in order to post the track to another site (eg myspace) under the track's CC license?

You should link to the track's home page on ccMixter, state the artist and track name and the license you are using it under.

I want to put my remix on a myspace-page, so..what do I need to do?
