I am working on a tool that can take EXIF data from a photo, read the specific bits put there by programs like photoshop, and turn them into a preset/action that you can use on your own photos. Since copyrights really only cover actual works, does this seem ok to do on any CC licenses photograph? The program would never look at or analyze the actual image, rather it would ask flickr, smugmug, etc for the exif data of a particular photo. Taking a list of values "Exposure: +1.33; Contrast: +25" seems reasonable to me. As it describes a method for processing a photo, which would be a patent thing not copyright. Any thoughts?
