I am an admin of a website that occasionally has content from other websites posted by our members. one of these websites insists that as well as the normal required attribution to the author that a link is also supplied to the original content on their site.
normally this wouldn't be a problem except that any links that we place to their website on our website is automatically referred to a page other than the page that contains the content we have posted.(hope that made sense)
the link referral was put in place by the other website, not ours.
are we in breach if we do not supply a link to the content but still provide proper attribution to the original author?

Im sure that if the link was put in by them using CC meta-tags then you should be fine. You have kept to the rules by copying the code supplied by the license.

You wouldn't be in breach but you may want to provide a trackback url if one is available if not then the proper attribution should be sufficient.
